About the Role:

 

The Sr. Financial Investigations Manager is a senior management level position responsible for overseeing all day-to-day AML operational activities within FID. This leader is seasoned in implementing and maintaining a world class Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and anti-money laundering (AML) operational program that provides the ability to deter the use of UB products and services to further the fight against terrorist financing and money laundering activities. Must be able to provide subject matter expertise and leadership in the operational fields of customer and enhanced due diligence, Law Enforcement interaction and responses (including 314a), list screening (including sanctions and negative news), Currency Transaction Reporting, and control functions including quality control, risk assessments, and second line of defense measures.

  • Development, management and execution of BSA/AML operational program including such areas as list screening, CTR filing, quality control, 314a responses, account closures, risk assessment, and CDD/EDD functions.
  • Develop policies and procedures for AML operations in the span of control including such areas as list screening, CTR filing, quality control and risk assessments, and CDD/EDD functions.
  • Engagement in oversight and tuning of automated BSA/AML CDD/EDD and potentially CTR systems.
  • Review of policy and related documents to ensure that AML operational risk management processes are addressed.
  • Determine emerging risk impacting customer AML typologies
  • Analyze data, prepare and present regional reports related to AML operations and related issues and escalations
  • Develop strategy, requirements and recommendations for AML operational functions relating to new products and services, including serving as driver or strong contributor as an AML/ATF SME for customer and product/service proposals.
  • Initiate, assess and determine data quality and recommend solutions to improve and deliver sustaining and effective screening, as well as alerts handling processes for all functions within the span of control.
  • Establish and conduct oversight of operations functions engaged in the handling/resolution of CDD/EDD and CTR alerts.
  • Review list screening solutions for efficiencies including negative news and OFAC lists.
  • Provide guidance on annual AML risk assessment including action plans and responses for affected lines of front-line business.
  • Respond timely and accurately to bi-weekly 314a requests.
  • Provide SME oversight on operational functions of account closure recommendations.
  • Provide oversight and support services for employees within the span of operational control.
  • Working knowledge and experience in Actimize, Accuity/SBS, 314a SISS preferred.
  • Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that apply to your position and keep up to date on regulation changes.
  • Maintain working knowledge of our policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations that apply to your position.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

About You:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Criminal Justice, Information Technology or related field. Required
  • 10+ years in fraud, investigations, and AML/ATF including a strong understanding of AML regulations and financial services environment across various products and geographical locations, with the ability to identify emerging AML risks that impact transaction and behavioral monitoring. Required
  • Experience with and previous exposure to internal control functions and regulators. Required
  • CAMS or equivalent certification or willingness to obtain. Required
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and analytical skill
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with understanding of strategic vision and context.
  • Ability to lead and influence people to successfully execute strategies across functions and at senior levels using sound judgment.
  • Promoting a culture of accountability and early escalation of issues.

Our Benefits:

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $98,000.00 - $150,000.00 and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
